Dr. Aleksandra Wianecka, OD
Dr. Aleksandra Wianecka graduated with Honors from SUNY College of Optometry in 2002. Dr. Wianecka then completed her residency at Northport VA in primary eyecare, low vision, head trauma, vision therapy and ocular disease. After her residency she was an assistance Professor at SUNY College of Optometry and worked at Stony Brook Hospital Opthalmology Department.
In 2004 Dr. Wianecka opened her own private practice in Copiage and in 2011 she moved her practice to Babylon Village. Dr. Wianecka is passionate about Primary Eye Care Optometry and enjoys every minute with her patients.
Dr. Wianecka is the former President of the Suffolk County Optometric Society, and past Director of Copiague Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Wianecka was recently elected to be a Trustee for the New York State Optometric Society. Dr Wianecka is now a proud member of the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce, and participates in various programs the village has to offer. She is also involved with the infant’s vision care program called Infants See, where she provides free eye exams to infants 1 to 12 months in order to prevent amblyopia and other childhood diseases which might otherwise go unnoticed.
Dr. Wianecka specializes in primary eye care, vision therapy, low vision rehabilitation, ocular disease and specialty contact lenses. She also works with numerous Opthomologists to comanage care for Lasik, Cataract Surgery, and other vaious surgical procedures. Dr. Wianecka is a strong proponent of natural healing, and counsels patients on alternatives in health care and nutrition.
Dr. Wianecka participated on missions trips to Mexico and Haiti to provide a very much needed eye care there. She also volunteers in Special Olympics and helps with screenings with special needs kids.
Dr. Wianecka is married and has two daughters and a labrador dog. She enjoys skiing, traveling and spending time with her family.
